Wedding Hair and Makeup in Parramatta and Western Sydney
Wherever the day takes you, from a cathedral wedding in Parramatta to a riverside reception in Penrith, getting ready happens in one room: at home or in a hotel suite, with the whole bridal party together. A mobile artist comes to you, so nobody is driving to a salon at 7am with a gown bag on the back seat.

Artists who cover Western Sydney
Four artists are based within 12 km of Parramatta: Inez in Parramatta, Devi in Northmead, Zainab in Prairiewood and Tracey in Blacktown. Five more travel in from further away. Which of them you see depends on your suburb.
Devi, Sarah and Nadine do bridal makeup only. If you'd like the same artist for your hair and makeup, look at Inez, Zainab, Tracey, Bela, Abrienne and Elisa. Your total depends on your suburb and your party, and it's on every card before you send anything.
Where Western Sydney brides get ready
Novotel Sydney Parramatta, PARKROYAL Parramatta and Meriton Suites Church Street all sit by the river in the Parramatta CBD, and Rydges Parramatta is across the road from Rosehill Gardens. Ask for a room with a big window: your artist and your photographer both want daylight. Parking in the Parramatta CBD can take a while to find, so once your booking is confirmed, message your artist in Glamr with where to park and your room number.
Home works just as well. Clear a table by a window, find a tall chair (a bar stool is ideal) and keep the room cool. Western Sydney summers run hot, and Penrith is often one of the hottest places in Sydney, so long-wear makeup matters more out here.
Ceremony and photo spots
The big church wedding in Parramatta is St Patrick's Cathedral on Marist Place. Parramatta Park has garden ceremony spots including the Rumsey Rose Garden, the Dairy Cottage Garden, the Bath House and Government Farm. A ceremony at one of them needs a permit from Greater Sydney Parklands, which asks for at least six weeks' notice, and a hired photographer needs a permit of their own. Old Government House, inside the park, is hired through the National Trust. Elizabeth Farm in Rosehill has wide sandstone verandahs and a re-created 1830s garden; weddings and photo shoots there are booked through Museums of History NSW. Further west, the Chang Lai Yuan Chinese Gardens at Nurragingy Reserve in Doonside make a beautiful backdrop for portraits.
Receptions spread right across the region: Rosehill Gardens and the Novotel in Parramatta, Atura Blacktown at Prospect, Lords Estate in Seven Hills, Novotel Sydney West HQ at Rooty Hill, and The Log Cabin on the Nepean River in Penrith. Moving from ceremony to photos to reception? Ask your artist which lipstick shade they used, and keep one in your bag.
A realistic getting-ready timeline
Your request asks for the time you need to be ready by. Make that the moment everyone is finished, which is usually when the photographer arrives, not when the ceremony starts. Your artist works out how long your party takes and replies with the time they'll start and finish.
As a rough guide, here is a 3:30pm ceremony in Parramatta with a bride, three bridesmaids and a mum, all makeup, one artist:
- 8:00am
- Your artist arrives and sets up by the window
- 8:15am
- Bridesmaids, one at a time, about 45 minutes each
- 10:30am
- Mum
- 11:15am
- The bride, about 90 minutes
- 12:45pm
- Final touches, and a note of your lipstick shade for later
- 1:00pm
- Ready by. The photographer arrives and the dress goes on
- 3:00pm
- Leave for the ceremony
Add hair and the morning gets longer. For a big party, start earlier or split the party between two artists, with a request to each. Plenty of Western Sydney weddings also run over more than one day: an engagement, a mehndi or haldi, the ceremony, the reception. Each day is its own request, so you can choose the right artist for each one.
Book a trial
A trial is the best way to know your look will last from 1pm photos to the last dance. Book it a month or two before the wedding, ideally on a day you have something on so you can see how it wears, and photograph it in daylight and with flash. Bring your veil, dupatta, hair pieces or jewellery, because they change how your hair is pinned and how bold the makeup needs to be. Most of the artists covering Western Sydney list a bridal trial as its own service: add "Bride — Trial" when you build your party. If you book it together with your wedding day, you'll also be asked for the suburb where the trial will be, since it's a second trip.
How booking works
- Enter the suburb you're getting ready in, then add your party: bride, bridesmaids, mums and flower girls. Add your date and the time you need to be ready by.
- See the artists who cover your suburb, each with the total for your whole party, travel included.
- Send a request to the artist you like.
- Your artist accepts, or suggests a different time, with the time they'll start and finish.
- You accept that time, suggest another, or cancel.
- Once you've accepted, you pay online to lock in your date. The rest goes to your artist on the day.
A few artists take bookings straight away: you pay to lock in your date and your booking's confirmed there and then, unless your party is bigger than they take on alone, which waits for them to accept first. With everyone else, you send a request first and your artist replies with the time they'll start.
It works the same way on the website and in the Glamr app.
If your artist hasn't replied within 24 hours, we release your request and show you other artists who can do it.

FAQs
- How much is wedding hair and makeup in Parramatta?
- It depends on the artist, your suburb and who's in your party, and every artist's card shows their total, travel included, before you send a request. For a Parramatta address today, bride makeup runs from $228.60 to $508, and bride makeup and hair from $355.60 to $844.55. Bridesmaids, mums and flower girls go into the same total.
- Which artists do both hair and makeup?
- Inez, Zainab, Tracey, Bela, Abrienne and Elisa do bride makeup and hair. Devi, Sarah and Nadine do bridal makeup only.
- Can one artist do my whole bridal party?
- Often, yes, as long as they offer every service your party needs. Add each person by role (bridesmaids, mother of the bride or groom, flower girls) and whether they need makeup, hair or both. Your artist works out how long it takes and replies with their start and finish time. If that's earlier than you'd like, suggest another time, or split a big party between two artists, with a request to each.
- Should I book a trial?
- We recommend it. Most artists who cover Western Sydney for weddings offer one, and you request it the same way as the wedding day, by adding "Bride — Trial" to your party. Book it a month or two before the wedding, and bring your veil, dupatta or hair pieces so the trial matches the day.
- How far ahead should I book?
- Six to twelve months ahead is a good rule for a peak-season Saturday; off-season and weekday dates can often be booked three to six months out. Saturdays in October–November and March–April tend to fill first, so if your date falls then, send your request early.
- Will my artist come to a hotel or my venue?
- Yes: your home, a hotel suite or a venue's getting-ready room. The artists you see are the ones who cover your suburb, from Parramatta out to Penrith, and travel is already in your total. Once your booking is confirmed you can message your artist in Glamr about parking, access and your room number.
- What happens after I send a request?
- Your artist accepts, or suggests a different time, with when they'll start and finish. You accept that time, suggest another, or cancel. Once you've accepted your artist's time, you pay online to lock in your date. The rest is paid to your artist on the day. If your artist hasn't replied within 24 hours, we release your request and show you other artists who can do it. A few artists take bookings straight away: you pay to lock in your date and your booking's confirmed there and then, unless your party is bigger than they take on alone, which waits for them to accept first. With everyone else, you send a request first and your artist replies with the time they'll start.
