Your artist brings everything — the kit, the chair-side manner, the timing plan. But a few small things on your side make the result noticeably better and the morning smoother.
The night before
- Skin: cleanse and moisturise well; skip trying any new skincare products (reaction risk on the day is not the vibe).
- Exfoliate gently if flaky — smooth skin is the difference between makeup sitting on the surface and looking like skin.
- Hair: if you're having hair styled, wash it the night before, not the morning of — day-old hair holds curls and styles far better.
- Sleep and water — genuinely the cheapest glow available.
What your artist needs when they arrive
- A spot near natural light — facing a window beats any bathroom downlight.
- A normal table and chair — the artist brings the rest.
- A power point nearby if hair styling is booked.
- Somewhere to park, or a heads-up about parking — it keeps your booking on time.
Have these ready
- Reference photos — two or three looks you love beat a long description. Screenshot them the day before.
- Your outfit (or a photo of it) so the look can be matched to it.
- Your own lip product if you want it for touch-ups later — the artist can apply it so the colour lasts.
- A button-up shirt or robe — nothing that pulls over your finished face and hair.
